Food Never Has to Go Into the Garbage
40% of all food in America gets wasted. While some of that is from lost crops and over supply, the majority of food waste comes from each of us. Food that you don’t finish at home or a restaurant goes into the trash. While composting is a good – and necessary – way to “reuse” unwanted or spoiled food, we can reduce waste by buying less, planning meals, eating more leftovers, and finding creative ways to keep food out of the landfill.
